CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Required Documents

The selection of students is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, the Regulations of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, and the provisions of the present Programme Regulations.

Every May, by decision of the School Assembly of the NKUA School of Medicine, a call for applications for admission to the Master’s Programme is published and posted on the websites of both the Programme and the University. Applications, together with the required supporting documents, must be submitted to the Master’s Programme Secretariat within the deadline specified in the call, which may be extended by decision of the School Assembly.

The School Assembly assigns the Coordinating Committee (SE) to oversee the selection of admitted students.

The required documents are:

  • Application form
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Copy of the degree certificate or proof of graduation
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals, if applicable
  • Evidence of professional or research activities, if applicable
  • Copy of both sides of the national identity card
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Certificate of English language proficiency: B2 level or higher
  • Recognition of foreign academic degree

Selection Procedure

The evaluation of applicants and the selection of admitted students is based on the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree grade: 20%
  • Certified knowledge of English: 15%
  • Publications or scientific work: 10%
  • Participation in relevant conferences, seminars, and training programmes: 5%
  • Professional or teaching experience: 15%
  • Letters of recommendation: 10%
  • Oral interview: 25%

The Postgraduate Programme Admissions Committee (E.E.M.F.) is responsible for evaluating applicants and ranking them according to merit. The evaluation is based on the criteria specified in the current Regulations. Based on the overall evaluation, the Coordinating Committee (SE), following the recommendation of the E.E.M.F., prepares the Student Ranking List, which is submitted for approval to the School Assembly.

Successful candidates must register with the Master’s Programme Secretariat within seven (7) days from the decision of the School Assembly. In the event of a tie, tied candidates are admitted as additional students, up to 10% of the maximum intake.

If one or more admitted students fail to register, the next candidates on the approved ranking list are invited to enroll in the Programme. Appeals regarding the selection procedure may be submitted within seven (7) working days from the announcement of the results. Appeals are examined by the competent authorities of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
